Christine (writer)

Why did you decide to apply and work with us?
I already had experience as a content writer, so I thought I should give it a try.
Especially when I read the rates and benefits too. It’s far better than any company I’ve worked for.
Plus, the post said you’re looking for horse writers.
That also made me interested because I love animals.
And my previous workplaces also had me write about animals.
But of course, I am also open to other topics/niches as well.
Did the job meet or exceed your expectations (and in what way)?
Yes, it did. It exceeded my expectations.
I’m used to strict companies and having bosses that would yell or scold their employees all the time.
Instead of guiding them on what to do properly. But here, everyone is very professional, while keeping a light atmosphere.
I have anxiety so I appreciate this type of environment. Plus, your efforts are really paid off with the best rates possible.
Also, the ability to work at your own pace amazed me.
It’s unlike other companies with strict 10-15 minutes breaks like we are prisoners.
Here you can feel free, which honestly helps me stay more focused on work.
Because I don’t feel suffocated by a bad work environment.
What are the most valuable things you’ve learned since you started?
I learned that you can have fun while working.
Instead of just thinking like it’s another gruesome work day.
I look forward to the day I write my topics because it’s fun to do.
And I can do it without sacrificing the quality too.
This job has taught me there can be balance in your life. Whether you’re working or resting.
Plus, it also made me learn better time management skills and writing techniques.
How did this job help you develop your skills?
It helped me stay more organized.
Cause I’m the type of person who tends to dig deeper than necessary.
That takes more time when I could’ve used it for something more productive.
I am still new and still learning, but I try my best to learn from every feedback.
How would you describe the work environment?
The work environment is very neat, professional, and welcoming.
I expected to feel intimidated, especially due to my anxiety.
But so far, everyone has been kind to each other.
Actively helping out each other without losing the professional vibe.
Plus, it’s very understanding too.
We’re given the choice to choose our comfortable work hours.
And we can make up for our missing hours in case of internet issues, sickness, etc. on the weekend too.
All in all, everything is very balanced and I find it impressive. It’s not something I’ll find in many workplaces today.
What do you like best about this job?
What I like best is our mode of operation.
I enjoy working alone and I can get anxious during meetings or calls. I can’t focus that way.
Here we can work independently and manage our own time. It helps get rid of any pressure or stress.
I also appreciate the thorough feedback.
Because during my first experiences at work, nobody bothered to correct me for my mistakes.
All I got were insults or humiliation. I had to learn the hard way, if I must say.
So here, being guided properly to fix my mistakes and improve myself really means a lot.
What would you improve and why?
Everything’s great for me at the moment. So, I don’t think there’s anything to improve.
Is there anything you miss and if so, what is it?
I don’t miss anything. In fact, this job has given me more opportunities to catch up on things I missed (more on real life.)
That’s why I’m very happy to work here.
Which is your favorite part of the work process?
Researching. It’s very cool to learn new things. But I also love reviewing your feedback for me.
That’s also another learning process. Then I’ll apply what I learned to the articles I’m writing.
One more thing is that we’re free to show our own personalities in the articles we write at times.
(But we have to keep it minimal as ghostwriters). This type of writing freedom is relaxing to me.
What do you think are the most important abilities for this job?
Personally, I think similar interests are needed in writing.
For example, as an animal lover, writing for animal sites can double my motivation.
Or if you’re a naturally curious person, researching will be a fun task and not boring for you.
I also think patience is an ability.
You have to be patient to find unique facts and information to back up what you’re saying.
Also, critical thinking skills are important too.
Since we often communicate through daily reports once a day, we have to solve problems on our own instead of wasting time.
But if we really can’t figure it out, that’s the time we’ll include it in the report.
In simple words, it’s about working independently to keep things productive.
If you ever start getting bored, what new challenge would you be up for?
I don’t think I’ll start getting bored, I enjoy writing.
But in any case, as I brought up with Ms. Angel, I am not confident with my math skills so anything that involves that might fry my brain (hehe).
So that means I think I’m up for nearly any new challenge.
